About me
Over the years, I have helped hundreds of students with their college admissions essays and graduate school personal statements. These students have been accepted into some of the top undergraduate and graduate schools in the United States, including Brown University, Dartmouth College, and Harvard Medical School.
After graduating from Middlebury College with a B.A. in English, l began my editing career in Cambridge, MA, working for a small, academic publisher. There I copyedited books written by local Harvard and MIT professors. I continued my work in publishing at The Urban Institute Press in Washington, DC. I also wrote an in-house newsletter for The Atlantic Council of the United States. I went on to earn a graduate degree from Georgetown University (Master of Science in Foreign Service) and then worked as a researcher and writer for a consulting firm that catered to multinational corporations.
From 2008-2019, I taught writing to first-year college students. In 2013, I received a College Counseling Certificate from UCLA and co-founded a college admissions consulting firm. I also completed a rigorous College Board-sponsored workshop for teachers of AP English Language and Composition. I've been a frequent presenter on how to write the college essay at the Hartford Youth Scholar College Readiness Conference in Hartford, CT. In 2021, I served as a writing coach for The Posse Foundation, helping Posse scholars prepare for college-level writing.
